Meet the Band:

Matthew Gonzalez

Co-Founding member of Solomon Grundy, Matthew Gonzalez is the mastermind that brought the band together. He hand picked the best talent North Carolina had to offer to create an epic supergroup.

Matthew is heavily influenced by Within the Ruins, Shadow of Intent, and Echopraxia. He strives to become a heavy hitter in the music world. Matthew is also the General Manager of GMMC Digital, a studio/venue in Durham, North Carolina.

Jordan Bryan

Co-founding member of Solomon Grundy, Jordan Bryan is an insanely talented vocalist, making screaming an art form. False chords, multiple timbre voices, and awesome stage presence make this beast stand out.

Jordan is influenced by bands such as Shadow of Intent, Rings of Saturn, Before I Turn, and Thy Art is Murder, combining styles with a Beowulf/Lovecraftian feel and message. His lyrics are complex, throughtful, and brutal - The Elder Gods would stand behind them. Jordan is also enrolled in Full Sail University for Video Game Design.

Joel Macias

Joel Macias is a well-respected drummer in the metal community, playing in over eight bands. He uses advanced drumming techniques and special equipment to pull off his insanely fast double-bass pedal work. He is the backbone of Solomon Grundy.

Joel is influenced by Slipknot and Lamb of God. The uglier and more brutal the song is, the more he likes it. Joel also brings a hip-hop feel to his drumming - he combines technicality with digestible grooves. Joel is also an incredibly talented digital designer and tattoo artist. He has designed much of Solomon Grundy’s logos and merchandise, making him an incredibly valuable member of the team.

Rudy Leal.jpg

Rudy Leal

Rudy Leal might be the most important member of Solomon Grundy. Leader of the Nemesis Alpha, a touring professional guitarist, and a badass producer - Rudy has led Solomon Grundy to new heights. Nearly all of the songs so far were originally organized and produced by Rudy. He even temporarily put Nemesis Alpha on hold to focus more on Solomon Grundy. We are incredibly lucky to have his talent and hard work.

Rudy is influenced by bands such as In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, and Allegaeon. He is an avid fan of melodic death metal and his technical abilities on guitar are profound. Additionally, Rudy Leal is active duty in the Army- originally enlisted, he worked his way up to become an officer.

Alex Moody

Alex Moody joined Solomon Grundy to add epic live-production value. Juggling two 88-key keyboards and a 36-key keytar, he can create an incredible variety of tones. From a full orchestra, choir, synths, leads, to atmospheric sound fx, there’s no limit to what you expect to hear from Alex’s playing.

Alex Moody is influenced by Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and George Gershwin as well as Lamb of God, Slipknot, and Parkway Drive. Alex combines his excellent music theory, sight reading, shredding capabilities, and incredibly powerful computing to put an epic symphonic edge to Solomon Grundy.
